Original Mixed Media Coastal Artwork with Up-cycled China and Glass Shards
This series reflects my lifelong connection to, and love of, coastal landscapes. The soft blues and distant headlands are painted in watercolour; small yacht sails created from shards of china salvaged from landfill. Each fragment suggested its own little boat — the curves and old glazing bring both texture and history to each scene. Tiny colourful flags are chips of shattered glass, also collected and reloved in this same process.
The result is a calm, layered artwork where painting and found-object elements meet. Framed in a deep white shadow-box, ready to hang or sit on a shelf or cabinet. A peaceful artwork for anyone who loves the ocean, quiet blues, or artworks with a meaningful story beyond the image.
